Bennett’s Dramatic Universe and Gurdjieff’s samkhya
Commentary on The Dramatic Universe
I remain of two minds about doing this commentary on Bennett, and may instead do a simplified set of notes on this blog with the same theme.
In fact, an informal approach might be better: a series of talking points/thinking points. I am too busy with other stuff to do the original project.
The problem is that noone knows how to study Bennett, and he didn’t make it easy, as he corrupted his own inventions with spurious matter that true believers will never let go of.
But at least independent students of Samkhya deserve a warning that a their subject has been boobytrapped by Gurdjieff, Bennett not far behind, but at least not so malevolent.
Again, as noted, Gurdjieff most suspiciously kept referring to great unknown teachings, producing a whole series of things that are mostly junk, even as he tended to disguise the fact that his core ideas are from classical Samkhya, completely wiseacred, and rendered useless.
