How to use WHEE

The text of WHEE is not designed to fulfill the fantasies of Darwinists, or of religious obsessives, New Agers with a postmodern agenda, or anyone else who refuses to study world history closely.

The basic thesis, btw, is present in Bennett, but confused there by other obsesssions, such as the astrological epochism of the Great Year, which doesn’t work.
WHEE puts those issues in a correct light, without metaphysical speculations, about theism or atheism.
Much New Age nonsense is built around the idea of a ‘new age’ beyond the modern. It is a false concept and expectation. The real and only New Age ismodernity, and that is preeminently suitable for a real spirituality of human self-consciousness.
The idea, present also in Gurdjieff, of destroying modernity, democracy, and its freedoms (but not capitalism, very often!) for a restoration of antique theocratic or brahministical domination has ruined the New Age movement.
Let me note that Bennett didn’t fall into that trap.

In any case, the point of WHEE is to show that world history has a very logical and complex evolutionary structure. The detail to the argument should prove convincing. It is not a new age manual of spirituality, or a scientific Darwinism.
