Is it a duty for buddhists following gautama to confront the demon mara? and other toxic nonsense

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:26 pm

The catch with the ‘royal path’ is that buddhism may have destroyed it. Early buddhism is really a version of raja yoga (but yogis gave buddhism a wide berth) but it became entangled with the ‘myth’ of buddha and the demon mara: was this a myth or was buddha attacked by a demon, and what is a demon? And why would mara attack buddha? was he like e j gold applying a denying force trap to followers of a path? Will his followers confront the same demon on the path? If they don’t are they on the right path? It is probably nonsense but since buddha said so you are stuck having to believe it. In modern times secular students don’t pay any attention to this, which is sensible, but the are no longer on a buddhist path. The problem is that an egregious ambiguity enters the whole subject: if you meditate will you become entangled in a demonic and unlike buddha simply go mad or end up a demon yourself. The metaphysics of demons is impossible to clarify, science rejects it out of hand because it isn’t empirical. And the implication arises that to follow buddha you follow his path and this will involve attacks by the demon mara. Gautama’s blunder here was monumental, but it may be the result of later followers. We don’t know and can’t find out adding further ambiguity. Soon the whole thing is confusion. A further confusion arose in the mahayana where the aspriant vows to not reach enlightenment until everyone else does. This raises the spectre of two final boddhisattwas going down a black hole playing enlightenment chicken. The dilemma compounds: you must meditate but it can’t have a result. So we enter the realm of ‘pointless mediation’ and this injects noise into the whole subject. It is possible buddhism produces more of a result than this suggests, but in fact we have no real understanding of its history. The axial age starting point only implies that some process influenced the initialization of buddhism, but this might imply a causal generation at the same, tending to make the whole thing fake, a causal history. The point is that buddhism is a human creation in the context of some ‘spiritual’ history: noone, even gautama can control its future. This axial age effect suggests that the beginning of buddhism was beautiful, its future something else.

I find it hard to believe buddha was such an idiot: clearly the whole subject is about something else, a hidden agenda is at work, and unlike yoga which involves individuals slipping away to work alone, buddhism is a mass movement with an absolute authority on top and a hidden elite developing into an exploiting class, spiritual cannibalism is very much a temptation as the elite soon finds out…

The axial age suggests the resolution: buddhism is taken up as a spiritual entity in the axial age destined to create a religion in parallel to monotheism. But to be in a religion soon has little to with a real path: it is the preeminent fake path. A close look at Tibet shows the truth of this: as rajneesh noted, after the almost artificial buddha creation one on one with milarepa as some kind of tradition creation token, not a single tibetan monk reached enlightenment in his wake. I find that hard to believe but rajneesh did in fact say it.

So the question of buddhism lurks in the mix of what is a hopeless mess of buddhists who without anything from the demon mara end up with a mysterious equivalent in the frozen arrest of a fake path.

Let me conclude by saying i don’t believe in demons, the demon mara, or the devil, but the probable reality is that disembodied states are probably real in some sense yet we operate blind to what is really real. dead buddhas, or simply ghosts can indeed self-invoke inside a path, and a royal path must find a way here…

The ‘royal path’ of homo sapiens…

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:16 pm

We have denounced all spiritual paths here and urged abandoning all of them. But you can play a trick on this and consider what was always the core of this as a real path beyond paths, the royal path, raja yoga. It is the most cliched and archaic ‘shit’ of an unknown tradition, ossified and opaque.
But its basic injunctions on meditation as dharana, dhyana, samadhi are as old as homo sapiens who learned that his consciousness was mechanizing but that concentration lead to a deeper consciousness . That’s it, the only path that isn’t a path…’paths are mostly distractions from the royal path. And the literature here will snare you into the whole confusion of one and the same gurus, a phony royal path. Simply consider the meaning of terms and quietly create your own version. If you read most books on the subject you will probably never actually start.

So the best defense against gurus and their paths is the ‘royal path’, the way of homo sapiens, whose ‘consciousness’ had a series of gears, four states of consciousness, and idea so garbled so many times we don’t know what it means. But if ‘concentration’ seems beyond one’s power it nonetheless remains the starting point.
We had some posts on Crowley here (scroll down a week or so): his biography records that beside the failed nonsense of his magic (which probably destroyed him karmically in the end) he quietly did his hommwork with his real path, raja yoga. He was one of the few successes at concentration, actually recording the number of times his mind wandered over a meditation period. So try to study the history of the ‘royal path’ beyond paths, and changing the terms and working in secret from gurus like gold who if they find out will wreck your effort, quietly consider you latent consciousness factors via concentration. That it is almost impossible doesn’t excuse you from trying.

This is complicated by the ‘there is nothing to achieve’ jargon of the advaitists. It may be true, but they clearly don’t know what they are talking about. If there is anything to it the ‘royal path’ will find it sooner or later.

Comment on Gold

Gold easily confuses people/groupies with a kind mesmerizing aura that produces conversion in beginners. But over and over disillusion sets in with the realization that none of his followers has any real path whatsover. And whatever path they might try to invent, gold attacks with a ‘denying force’ argument. Gold i suspect does have a series of hidden followers involved in obscure projects: one i suspect is related to a group of jewish fascists who sourced as his students and then became entangled in a global conspiracy against democracy. We see this bearing fruit in our own time, consider mr. trump. Figures like gold have telepathic/hypnotic powers, and one can only speculate the even worse mind control tactics of sufis, tibetans, and others. It stuns the imagination to think what mischief they could inflict on a politician under their spell. Gold cleverly denounces students who move into these thought to be the real esotericism, bullshit. I can’t be sure however if gold is actually a fascist. But the whole new age movement is entangled in the occult fascism that manufactured hitler. So the trump redux phenom has a shadowy antecedent…
that these gurus wish to destroy modernity and democracy should make anyone with sense stay away from them.
Pick up a book on raja yoga and secretly re-write it into different language, that’ all you need and you don’t need a guru…
Gold contrary to what you say has written nothing but the most idiotic and useless books and has the intellect of a peanut. He is a total bullshitter with no connection to anything.
Such people arise from a combination of arrested raja yoga, occult power search and crowely style black magic. The older books depicting the ‘left hand path’ are nonsense but they point to something we don’t understand, but which we see in figures like gurdjieff/gold.

Stay away from such people, but at least never surrender your will. If you do you are dead sooner or later…

I have suffered forty years of black magic from this shit head jewish sufis (with contempt for christians) but couldn’t prove a thing in court.
It is the terrible reality of the new age movement whose verdict is to pass on…this movement arose in the enlightenment as a sideshow of historical study (cf. schopenhauer) and was never a ‘new age’ anything, but an old age senile movement repeating garbled versions from the past.

crowley the saint of covert agency psychopaths?

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:24 pm

crowley is suspect has been a malevolent influence on the covert agencies and their psychopaths: and the training to be psychopaths that has become a curse of democratic government…

the crowley riddle, do what thou wilt a path? nuts…next…

Posted in Uncategorized at 7:21 pm

whatever the controversy over crowley he is more original than his critics would allow but the limits of his teaching are in his core thinking about the will: the book of the law is a recipe for madness and its thesis of a new aeon is not right…it would be impossible to create a path out of imitating crowley, madness…

but as we have noted with bennett there is the enigma of the ‘will’ and there is no real spiritual literature to guide anyone..

Crowley’s ‘do what thou wilt’ is going to be a failure and produce monstrosities, like osho’s tantric conscious murder…
